On a sunny day, August 16, a baby girl was born in the province of Catania, Sicily, Italy. Her name was Sanda. That baby-girl is now 71 years old and in her present life, an Artist and a Yoga Trainer living in Miami.
Returning from a long business trip in Africa in 2017, Sanda took tons of pictures and her soul felt the urgency to create art. She started with T-shirts, followed by wood carvings and collages using photos and resins. Soon after she received an invitation to participate in an evening painting class in North Miami, wherein three hours she fell in love. Extremely motivated by this experience, she purchased canvases, brushes, and acrylic colors. Then on New Year’s Eve, 2018, she cranked up the music, poured herself a glass of wine and started a new life, painting with passion. While celebrating, on Jan 1st, 2019, it dawned on her that she wanted to continue painting as long as she lived. A few months later, Sanda met a British Artist, Jude Parry who attended a Yoga class at Sanda’s Yoga Studio. Jude loved Sanda’s yoga class and delicious, healthy, Mediterranean brunches and they quickly became friends. Sanda shared her artwork and her love of art with Jude who- impressed by Sanda’s enthusiasm-invited her to participate in a weekly painting class sponsored by the City of Miami Beach.
Sanda hasn’t stopped painting since, producing over 50 pieces of art. She uses acrylics, oils, and resins and is inspired by Vincent Van Gogh, Marc Chagall, and Claude Monet.
