This work is mixed media, acrylic paint and a blue zircon stone on 20″ x 30″ canvas. The figure is a young Tibetan Buddhist in meditation.

The blue stone at the top of the boy’s sternum represents the throat chakra or Vishuddha. According to Hindu tradition of tantra, the throat chakra is the fifth primary chakra and associated with the thyroid gland. The throat chakra increases wisdom and clear communication.

The stone’s blue color is believed to have a calming effect on the nervous system and promoting deep relaxation, making it ideal for hyper-activity and sleep problems.

The name, Amoghi, is based on Amoghasiddhi who is one of the Five Wisdom Buddhas from the Vajrayana tradition of Buddhism. Amoghasiddhi is known for his ability to overcome the poison envy. The translation of his name is He whose accomplishment is not in vain.
